I am teaching psychology to students at a university. I am also engaged in counseling service for students and in local activities to support hikikomori’s or social withdrawals.

Reportedly, there are several hundreds of thousands of hikikomori’s , young adults who are neither at work nor at school, in Japan.
They cannot nurture relationship with others in the society. Many of them are in aguish over that they cannot find meanings or value of their life. I am addressing a challenge to help them effectively using logotherapy.

Even among those who are not a hikikomori but living a normal life with material affluence, there are some who feel emptiness or have hollowness in their heart because they can’t find meanings or purpose of life.

I, myself, used to be one of them, but I have significantly changed myself by encountering Frankl’s thoughts and logotherapy.

according to surveys conducted by the japanese cabinet office, more and more people attach importanceAccording to surveys conducted by the Japanese Cabinet Office, more and more people attach importance on spiritual richness over material affluence. Under such circumstances, logotherapy will be required by people more and more in the future. As a logotherapist, I have a mission to help people to live a spiritually rich life. This is also my meaning to live.
